Red Collar Brewing Impeachment Wit

Can I give a shout out to how wonderful it is that more and more breweries are able to offer their delicious brews in cans for the outdoor-minded craft beer drinker? Cuz bombers and swimming holes just don’t mix. Impeachment from @redcollarbrewing is a superbly refreshing wheat beer that really delivers the peach experience with a light sweetness and full body, played off with just a hint of bitterness to keep it crisp. Dee-lish!

Today’s Beer: brewed in the Berliner Weisse style, the Apricot Sour from Red Collar scored 3 “dangs” out of 4. This is the summer of Berliner Weisses and I just can’t get enough of these low alcohol sour-wheat beers. The sourness of this one is mellowed by the sweetness of the apricots to create a very refreshing experience. The label is also very cool!

Today’s Beer: Finally made it up to Red Collar in Kamloops. I’m enjoying a jug of their Belgian Wit with my sister, outside while the sun goes down. Aroma is a little funky, but the flavour is crisp with a hint of citrus and a bit of bitterness, followed by a classic wheat finish. A perfect patio pint.

Today’s Beer: thie Belgian Dubbel from Red Collar is the perfect pairing for a spring rainstorm! Warm coffee and toffee notes with a hint of chocolate. I’m really enjoying Belgian beers lately, and Red Collar has quite a few in their line up that I’m looking forward to trying!

Today’s Beer: this IPA from Red Collar is not your typical IPA. Described as an English style IPA it is more malt focused and less intensely hoppy than the West Coast IPAs I’m used to. That’s not to say it’s lacking in flavour, the malts balance spicey citrus bite from the Galaxy and Ella hops. I met JP from the brewery the other night at the CAMRA SOK meeting and had a good chat about the drink local trend and how that’s changing the approach to brewing in BC. I am looking forward to checking out their Kamloops brewery in person later this spring!
